CLASS SUPPLY LIST- Please bring to the first day of class: sewing machine with power cord, pedal, and accessories; all-purpose thread; a small multi-pack of universal sewing machine needles, size 80/12; hand-sewing needles, seam ripper, and sharp scissors.
SEWING TECHNIQUES I: Basic

Class Duration: 4 weeks
Students master the proper execution of 20 basic, fine dressmaking and sewing techniques. Students must bring their personal sewing machines, a binder (to create a sewing notebook), and items from the class supply list at the top of this page. MINIMUM ENROLLMENT: 3 students.

SEWING TECHNIQUES II: Intermediate

Class Duration: 4 weeks
This class is a continuation of Sewing Techniques I, in which students master the proper execution of a second set of 20 intermediate, fine dressmaking, tailoring, and sewing techniques. Students must bring their personal sewing machine, a binder (to create a sewing notebook), and items from the class supply list at the top of this page.
Prerequisite: Sewing Techniques I.

SEWING TECHNIQUES III: Advanced

Sewing with Knits 1: Beginner

Section 2: 6-8:30
Sewing with knits covers a brief overview of knit fabrics and their applications. Students will learn layout and cutting techniques, as well as construction details unique to knits. Students will construct pants utilizing various waistbands and finishing techniques.

Sewing with Knits 2: Intermediate

Section 2: 6-8:30
Students will continue to review layout and construction techniques on a variety of t-shirts and neckline finishes. Students learn how to work with elastic and adjustable straps while constructing a camisole and underwear. Students gain experience using sergers and home sewing machines in construction.

Sewing with Knits 3: Advanced

Students will construct a cardigan and a hooded jacket, learning buttonholes and inserting a zippers into knit fabrics. Additionally, students will learn stabilizers and interfacing to use with knits.
